Additional Information: You can place your riccia in a moss holder or you can thinly and evening spread the riccia over rock and cover with mesh and then tightly secure the mesh with fishing line. In time the riccia will grow through the grates in the moss holder or mesh. Place this in an area where there is no shade as Riccia is considered a “High Light” Moss. Run you lights for approximately 6 to 8 hours a day and for faster growth use Flourish Excel (liquid carbon) or inject Co2. Do not overdose on flourish excel as riccia can be damaged easily from overdosing excel. Ultimately, you can let your riccia float around the top of the aquarium and grow it that way as many people do. If your current is considerably strong the riccia will end up all over the place so ideally floating riccia is better in a tank that does not have too much surface current, although a little is fine.
N.B. This plant may or may not contain harmless non-plant eating aquatic snails (if you do not wish to keep aquatic snails in your aquarium please refer to our plant dip section under the FAQ and inspect your plants thoroughly for clear gel like snail eggs).
For ponds just let this one float around – don’t attempt to pot it
