Flourish® is a comprehensive plant supplement for the natural freshwater aquarium. It contains a rich assortment of important micro elements, trace elements and other nutrients. These include calcium, magnesium, iron and other important elements that have been shown to be beneficial to aquatic plants. For macro element (NPK) fertilization, use Flourish Nitrogen™, Flourish Phosphorus™ or Flourish Potassium™ as needed. Flourish® is safe for invertebrates such as shrimp.
Note from Aquatic Plants NZ: There is no need to use Flourish Nitrogen or Phosphorus alongside Flourish if you have a heavy fish load with decaying organics, as this will provide sufficient nitrogen and phosphorus via the nitrogen cycle and fish food. If your tank is almost fish-less however then N and P deficiency could occur. Potassium deficiency is detected when leaves begin to yellow and form pinholes. If you do not see this and your plants are thriving then forget about adding potassium. Potassium deficiency can be confused with carbon deficiency and light deficiency as the symptoms look almost identical, therefore be sure to use Flourish Excel along side any low tech fertiliser regime and ensure your lights are of a sufficient brightness. T8 and T5’s need replacing yearly as they degrade over time.
Directions
Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 250 L (60 US gallons) once or twice a week. For smaller doses, please note that each cap thread is approximately 1 mL. Refrigeration is recommended 3 months after opening.
